Is it art, or is ti architecture? Or then again, might it be fashion? Contemporary architecture has many of the qualities of other disciplines, but it is above all varied. I nt his book, the work of 87 different architects is presented, each of them with their own style, materials and regional influences. The buildings shown here are made of concrete (Tadao Ando), or of paper (Shigeru Ban); they are minimalist (Wiel Arets), sculptural (Frank Gehry), or even figurative (Branson Coates). Because they are selected precisely for the variety of their work, because each of these architects is important in his or her own way, the 87 selected here can be considered to be today'smost creative building designers.
